Onion Skin Song (1971 - ) ->
Onion Skin Song is a score for performance.
Performer
study and execute the onion skin score to make music. They
see the clusters of skins and fragments sandwiched in a transparent
plastic prototype before the performance. Each selects an instrument
and decides how to treat the score.
An Onion Skin Score is made afresh for each performance.
I travel with a variety of toys and paper instruments to choose from.
In Kiel, Germany 2005, I performed Onion Skin Score with about
10 people for a festival at Salzau Castle. After the performance
the Onion Skin Score was hung in Trevor's Store Front Gallery in Kiel.

Onion Skin Score was first done as
a series of sienna blueprints on sepia vellum done at Cal Arts in
1971 in an edition of 10, called Three Songs.
